DEMONSTRATION TEAM HISTORY
The first VFS 27 demonstration team was formed over ten years ago and consisted of a small group of pilots with a common vision who enjoyed the thrill of precision formation flying with fellow squadron pilots. At that time the goal of the team was to emualte actual demonstration teams. Over the years the VFS 27 demonstration team formalized its F-16 airshow routines and practices to promote a cohesive team.
The history of the VFS 27 demonstration team can be traced back to November 2005, a few short months after the release of Falcon 4.0 Allied Force. At that time the demonstration team was reinvigorated and began to conduct air show practice flights. In 2009 the demonstration team became known as the "“White Lions"”.
In September of 2011 the demonstration team transitioned to the F/A-18E and became known as "Deep Six". Today Deep Six is an organized team that continues to perfect demonstration routines, promotes camaraderie within the virtual flying community, and has become one of the most enjoyable and challenging aspects of VFS 27.
