The Weapons and Tactics Evaluation Division (WTED) is the VFS-27 division that trains squadron test and evaluation pilots to carry out tests and evaluations of weapon systems, aircraft performance, squadron air combat tactics, and many other related evaluations.

The WTED was created to formalize and standardize test and evaluation pilot procedures in order to reduce accident rates and increase the number of productive test and evaluation flights.
